Unfortunately (for me) he got promoted to JPMorgan Private Banking.
What is private banking and what is private client?

CPC guideline=$250K
JPMPB guideline=$10MM
Both guidelines are waiveable if you have a relationship with a banker...

Never heard of JPMPB. What benefits do they offer over CPC?

Do I get a different banker? Or the CPC bankers handle the JPMPB customers as well?

I don't have a relationship with a banker. Just walked into a bank and tried to get CPC requirement waived and the guy told me that chase corporate fines them if the person doesn't have $250K within 1 yr. He seemed honest but who knows if that's real, could just be standard line they tell ppl to go away.

Still working on it :)

JPMorgan private bankers are separate from Chase PC bankers.

Not sure what the JPMPB benefits are, but JPM clients can apply for the JPM Reserve card that is basically another 100K CSR card but comes with a UA Club membership, has no late fees, and doesn't report utilization to the CRAs.

You got fed a line of BS.
They're not giving to someone who walks in off the street without a relationship.

Interesting. I guess I gotta talk to my PC banker. It doesn't seem like there is a separate JPM banker in my branch. I know pretty much all the bankers. It's my PC banker and the next lever above him is the manager.

Depends how good a talker you are and who the banker is. I've seen it done.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

PB bankers generally aren't standard desk bankers in retail branches.

Many law firms used to offer their associates JPM PB, but Chase started pulling back.

To explain your words better. My PC banker explained to me, if he gives out right and left PC accounts they will notice it when they review and he will be looking for a new job. However as long as they bring in "real" PC customers they can push in here and there whoever they like.

Tip:if you want a PC banker to like you, send him a real PC customer who has high funds to sign up for PC with the banker because you sent him. They love it.

Seems that PC is more than enough. To me having a local physical guy in branch is better than having some private banker sitting in some office called JPMorgan.

I'm a member of the JPM private bank. Doesn't do much for me. No culture card or other special benefits aside from generally no fees. I applied for the CSR card today and got declined. Called up recon and got approved after mentioning PB. So maybe a little bit. I called my private banker a couple times over the past few years but he was not helpful.

If only CPC was actually worth having for people with a lot of money.

Actually keep 10M+ on deposit, or got it through a law firm/family member?

Did you request a culture card?
Did you try applying for the JPM Reserve?

Huh?
It's not worth it to actually keep $250k+ with chase, you'd do better putting it other places.

Well, you are right however people with a lot of money keep around these balances as liquid for day to day spending. Of course all other millions are invested etc
