iphone5 vs Samsung S3. Which one should I get?

I searched and while I saw topics for the iphone 5 and the Galaxy S3 I didn't see a topic weighing out the Pros and Cons to both.

I am up for an upgrade from my blackberry (which I hate). I have At&t but unfortunately not an unlimited plan.

I am looking into either the iphone5 or the Galaxy S3.

One of the main things I need to use the phone for is to edit word documents (and use the "save as" feature) and then save into the cloud (either google drive, dropbox or box)

I have an ipad but I barely use it (my wife uses it). But I am more familiar with the apple layout.

I never had a touchscreen keypad and I am a drop nervous about it. I do write a lot of emails and texts. That's why people say the S3 might be better because its bigger (too big?) and has swype. However I do know that iphone5 is decent sized as well. 

Anyone could help me out with some more Pros/Cons for either phone?

And just for fun what about the Windows Nokia 920? Amazing price, screen, camera features etc.
Plus the Windows keyboards are the most responsive and the best I've seen.

In the end of the day they are both (or all three) great phones. Maybe give us some more ideas of what you'll be doing with your phone.


Besides the OS and physical build the other major factors are size/storage,  removable battery, and price.

Personally, I have the S3 for the following 10 reasons even though I'm a huge Apple fan:

1- removable battery
2- removable storage
3- larger screen
4- plug and play
5- more customizable
6- more useful features (NTC tags, Google Wallet, etc.)
7- backs up with Google
8- works easily without any platform (no itunes required)
9- has many document editing options
10- SwiftKey3 is the best keyboard out there, with Swype 4.3 a close second.  Both better than Apples keyboards.

I mainly would use it for email, basic web surfing and occasional video streaming. Nothing too fancy. I can't use it like crazy because I only have 2GB.

Also as I said above, I really need it to be able to run word documents that I could edit and use a save as function (I need to be able to type documents into a basic template and save them under different file names) and then be able to upload it to a cloud server.

You can do that on the S3.  The S3 also comes with a 50GB Dropbox account for 2 years for uploading to the cloud.

IOS limits you to Pages.

Other than the size, the little perks it adds IMHO are just psychological mind game to have the 'latest' model. Many people disagree with me on this

Depends. I like the s3. Nice screen. Removable battery. Micro sd card. Customization options.

You can change the battery on the GS3. For $50 you can get a dock that charges the phone and the replacement battery (included with the dock) at the same time.
On those long days you can always switch it in middle.
What makes the note 2 special (aside from that huge battery), is what it's capable of. Running 2 apps at the same time is so convenient, esp for people like me who like copy/pasting info from the internet to notes or Waze etc. Screen is not the best out there but for most of us mortals, when you get to the higher ppi on phones, it hardly makes a difference.

Btw the Nokia 920 has 32gb of storage for $99.99 (or $50 during black friday) compared to the iphone 5 for $299.
 Or you can get the S3 and add your own storage!
