Would someone mind explaining how you can get SQ from NYC to TLV?
They have a flight from JFK to FRA

My opinion differs.

Depends if you get the beds.
Don't all the 744s have beds?

fair enough, though, the truth is, i don't even know where people come from when they rave about it.  you, dan, lucky wants to live there... not sure how the hype even began.                they have a nice bar, but except for walker blue, gl finding a bottle that's over $100.   so unless you're feeling juvenile and looking to get trashed, you have a few shots of some decent booze, maybe a cigar or a few cigarettes in the cigar lounge (which imo is the nicest part of the place) and then...   what?

the whole main area is full of semi comfortable chairs and couches, nothing special.

the restaurant is worthless for us.

the rooms have the most uncomforable "beds" for sleeping i've ever been on.

the computers are from the 18th century, running the first version of internet explorer invented.

the shoeshine machine in the bathroom is a relic, honestly it's probably there for design more than for use. pay $5 in any airport in the world and you'll walk away with a nicer shine from a person doing it while you sit in a big comfortable chair, instead of looking like a fruitcake in the bathroom.

they do have nice shower rooms, i'll give them that.

but seriously, what am i missing?

Nice post, thank you @yare for posting a different perspective (before I forget, @yare you are the bomb, pleeease keep on posting :P ), I almost was under the impression that I'm missing out on some serious paradise here..

FWIH, the top BA lounge (I forget what it's called) in LHR also gives you a nice bed in a private room, unlimited glatt kosher hermolis food FWIW (no need to order beforehand like in FRA) and lots of other spectacular amenities.  Sounding better than FCT...  Ok, minus the Mercedes to your plane or whatever..

BTW, I thought one is forbidden to shine shoes on day
of travel (צוואת רבי יהודה החסיד) anyways, no?

@yare - I like the cigar room, and the bathroom/shower. I've never slept in a lounge.

If you like nice computers you'll love the TG lounge in BKK.

And no, I don't want to 'live' there, but if I must travel better living there than TG, SQ, VS, LX. I wouldn't fly there if you gave a me free F tkt, unless I have to go. I actually don't go there often because I hate taking the short TATL flights when I can avoid it

I was only trashed once in my life and honestly I have no interest in doing it again.

Different airline codes. Google 'em.

And TATL = transatlantic.

Unsure if this is the right place or not for this thread.

On UA's biz/first product to/from TLV, which seats would you recommend if traveling with some kids and an infant?
