we use a vernado: includes tip-over protection, cool touch exterior, remote sensor. you can get these for about 80 or so.
as far as drying out the air, you can buy a good quality humidifier from target for about 30 bucks or so.
i don't know that it's possible to have a space heater that does not dry out the air.

Any suggestions on a good one? My space heater causes me to wake up in middle of the night with very dry eyes.... Aren't there warm air ones and standard?? That might have been complete BS but I know nothing about them...
