I got a couple of poplin shirts (someone ordered them for me) amd they are down right terrible. Do they allow exchanges? And how does return shipping work?

You are describing twill. Other weaves are nice too if you're willing to try something different. The royal panama is very thick and so are its pinpoints, a bit like oxford.

I have tried the pinpoint, it's very good, much better than JAB of course.
You should also try the Panama, highly recommended.
