Nope. But 66k you can stay at some hot spots + 2nd night free. I'm in.

I know my customers. If you'd be staying at these properties anyway, 85k/card ain't too bad at all. If someone does a consumer+biz 2bm (or 3BM of all cards) please post back on how it went.

Radisson has precious few hot spots and no aspirational properties (the ones where people look for points because they can't afford them otherwise) like SPG, HGP, and HH have. There's a reason they basically sell 55K points for under 0.2 cents per point every year.

Isn't 40k for $280

What's the difference between a hot spot and an aspirational award? The former is geographic and the latter is a good point value (which would be cost-prohibitive with cash)?

I think Dan is referring to when they offer 50k for 1 stay, which would net you:

Kauai or Maui are hot spots where people like using points.  Radisson's site is down now, but I don't think they have properties there.
Sure they have a decent enough place in Aruba, but it's Aruba :P

An aspirational property is something like the PH Maldives or an aspirational flight would be something like F on EK or SQ.

Also 40k points for each yr's renewal.
All in all, a pretty good card I'd say.

I wonder if the bloggers won't push it so much since they don't receive commissions...

For someone like me who has already amassed a few hundred k points with Carlson this card could be a great idea.  You get the points plus up to double the value on your points as you get a free night added to every award stay.
I understand the limitations of these points but that doesnt mean they cant be quite valuable if you use them correctly.

I have 3bm amex(maybe 4 including spg consumer/spg biz/MB plat/hilton surpass and 2bm citi coming up so i feel its a not needed card(s) since 85k going @ .02 is like 200 - 250 bucks. I would rather do the spending on something more "value" if you know what I mean ;)

Do any of their cards waive the AF for the first year?

They have a 30k linky out there as well. No AF.

Even less worth it imho. if I went for this it would probably be a 3bm I'd hope for instant approval on all three, and get 250k + points (when you factor in spend points as well).

I kind of agree, but the 30k card also has the benefit of the free night.
So the question becomes if the extra 55k points and additional spend needed is worth the annual fee.

Don't forget that the annual bonus itself translates into around 7k airline miles which itself is worth more than the annual fee.

I'd only do this in a 3bm, why burn an inquiry on 1x<$200 card? I prefer 3x cards with total value (for the pull) of >$500

but only if you're certain that it'll only be one pull
worst case scenario is 3 pulls for 3 cards (or less if you need to HUCA)
And since the best benefit is the free night, one card will get you that

If they pull EX I'm not so worried...

For 1 card it simply isn't worth it for me, I'm not banking any Carlson points and don't have any reason to choose their brand when I have lotsa Hilton and Hyatt options going for me.

Just applied for the personal and biz, and need to wait for an answer.

The reason that these are somewhat attractive to me is b/c they are points, not free nights, and therefore, won't expire as easily. Since I never know my travel plans, I'm hesitant to go in on the Hyatt, Marriot, Citi Hilton cards, etc
Also, they have a decent selection of properties in Europe and Asia, and since I'm in Israel, those work out for me.
