Well that is what I meant. We had an egyptian guard with a loaded machine gun in the van with us. He was in the front row. We took turns putting on teffilin under a sheet sitting right behind him!

On the other hand we didn't have an armed escort either. We took public transportation: Buses and shared vans nesher style

The armed escort only made it more scary. There was major alerts then for all travel in the Sinai then. My father actually gave me money for the trip if you could believe that!! The company that took the Cairo booking had told me I better not be religous because there is no way to daven so I called back from a different phone and made the booking pretending I was someone else.

Then I got into a fist fight inside the big pyramid... Wanna hear?

Ok here goes. My wife better not read this!

I was with 3 friends but was the only one who wanted to pay to enter the pyramid. It was a couple of bucks, and to enter the chamber you have to kind of climb down alot of steps all while bending down. The egyptians must have been really short. So I went with my ticket to the entrance and the guard told me it is illegal to enter with a camera. I said no problem, walked away and stuffed the camera inside my pants. I then told came back and managed sneak in with my camera!!

After doing the spooky climb I got into the chamber. There were several people around so I waited for them to leave. When it was just me and this 30 year old Arab left I decided my window had come. I pulled out my camera and started shooting. He ran over to me and tried to steal my camera. Imagine a dark chamber with a casket for the mummies, myself alone and this guy. I started fighting back and we wrestled it to the floor. I was half expecting him to pull a knife on me when another group entered the chamber. I jumped up and got out of the pyramid in record time!!

Very creative! I had a similar experience in the Museum of Cairo! I took a bunch of videos and pictures until they chapped on...Did you go there also?

Yes I did but did not get any pics there. That was very frustrating. Did you see Pharoh?

No!! lol I regret it to this day. We saw a line of people waiting for some room and we didnt have the time or patience to find out what was in that room

But I did get some cool pics otherwise
