Things to do:
Pier Village in Long Branch (on the boardwalk) is a nice area to walk around & shop.
Jersey Shore Premium Outlets is off exit 100A on the Garden State Pkway and has the best shopping.
Point Pleasent Boardwalk and Arcade
Seaside Heights Arcade + Water Park + Amusement Park
The Asbury Park boardwalk has some arcades, but not much else.
The BEACH! After all, it is the Jersey SHORE!
Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari is about 30-35 miles away.
There are at least 4 golf courses within 5+ miles from the area.

Where to Stay:

Ocean place is really nice, just not sure if their are any shuls in the area.

Here are some hotels within walking distance to a shul.

Sheraton Eatontown Hotel (25 Min. Walk)
6 Industrial Way E
Eatontown, NJ 07724
732-542-6500
www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/

Staybridge Suites (25 Min. Walk)
4 Industrial Way East
Eatontown, NJ 07724
732-380-9300
www.ichotelsgroup.com

Holiday Inn Express Hotel (30 Min. Walk)
294 State Route 36
West Long Branch, NJ 07764
732-542-1234
www.hielongbranch.com

The bed & breakfast on cedar avenue called "Cedars & Beeches" is a cute mom & pop b&b that is 10 minute walk from 3 syrian shuls, 1 eshkanaz shul and the beach. Although not as extravagant as the Ocean Place, I would say that is your best bet for a shabbos.

Oh sorry I thought you where asking for Sunday morning. I would find out what time they both open and during the week don't think any will be packed (if open) for breakfast. If not I would go to hot bagel factory for bagels (not sit down) best bagel u ever had

in deal? Anything is illegal
For those of you going to swimming, make sure it's a beach with a lifeguard , if not be prepared to have police pull you out and make you miserable

Got back from the Jersey Shore last night. Had a really nice time.

Got the the Sheraton Eatontown (4k points/night) about 1:30. It's not a nice hotel by DDF standards but it was fine for the night. We quickly changed and headed to the beach. We went to Asbury Park thinking about renting chairs but we ended up bringing our own. Beach was not that full. We put our chairs in an area away from lifeguards and near the water and barely saw anyone. But it was beautiful. Clear day, slight breeze, good sand. Exactly what a beach day should be. We headed back to the hotel in time to shower, change and daven mincha at Shaare Tefila which is a 5 minute drive from the hotel.
After discussing it with some friends, we actually decided to drive to Lakewood to try out Estreia (which was really good) davened Mariv in Lakewood and headed back to the hotel.

Next morning davened at Shaare Tefila again (still couldn't completely follow all of davening) and then breakfast at Chocolate Soda. Eh. We had the pancakes and the waffles. Both were ok. Didn't have any whipped cream, ice cream, or any sort of cream to put on top. Staff is definitely interesting, a little awkward at times. After breakfast we drove around the area gawking at some of the homes. I mean, the "small" homes were bigger than most of the "large" homes in brooklyn. Pretty awesome.
I tried getting a late checkout but all they would give me was 1pm. So we changed plans slightly. We got ready for the beach and packed up. We went to Hot Sand in Asbury Park, which is a glassblowing store where you can actually participate. It was kinda fun. They limit what you can do to pinching tweezers and blowing into the tube a few times. It was more fun to watch other people go than to do it yourself IMHO.
We headed to the beach again for a few hours. This is where the change of plan came in. Instead of heading back to the hotel, changing, and going for dinner, we decided to just head back home from the beach and eat dinner there.
Before heading home, we stopped for some pizza and URBAN POPS (my family is obsessed with them.) Don't remember the name of the pizza shop but it's down the block and has sushi tokyo inside. Really good brooklyn style pizza. Got home at a decent hour which was nice.

All-in-all, was a great quick getaway. Not sure why it's not more popular with the J-Dubs I know. ;D
