SPG.com site says:

With US Airways®, you can transfer up to 79,999 of your Starpoints® into Dividend Miles® at a 1-to-1 ratio. And for every 20,000 Starpoints transferred within the same transaction, you will earn 5,000 bonus Starpoints which will be automatically added to your transfer up to a maximum of 94,999 miles per eligible transfer.

Does that 94,999 miles apply with this promotion if I transfer 60K? Do I need to make 2 seperate transactions?

I'm not 100% sure but it seems that you are only transferring 75k starpoints (60k+15k bonus) and the bonus 50% comes from us airways. So it should be fine to transfer the 60k in one transaction. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It can't hurt but I don't see a need, the 50% bonus has nothing to do with SPG and posts much later.
60K SPG will net 75K US + the 50% bonus=112,500 US.

Is there a limit to bonus miles?

Dan, are you still concerned about banking US miles?

If I am doing the math right- 130K SPG= 2 tix in BIZ NY-TLV?  (130K SPG= 160 US) + 50% bonus = 240K US ?

+1, I don't like the long-term prospects of the company.
Don't move Starpoints for the sake of banking US miles there unless you plan to use them within the year.

those looking to buy keep in mind that till 7/31 60k of SPG = 1 free Biz tkt to TLV on a *A Carrier via US as US is now giving a 50% bonus to Miles transferred in
60k starpoints
+15k starpoints bonus
=75k starpoints × 1.5 (50% US bonus)
=112.5k miles
You need 65k starpoints to get to 120k miles.

there are other ways to make up the small shortfall, 1500 is yours by using a link on USAir to join up now thats 114 but still the pt is till 7/31 the value of a SPG pt has increased from what it is usually valued at.

So all I was trying to do is alert those who might be in dire need of them that they may not get any bites as what they are offering will be too low, then again that may turn out not to be the case

I understand and value your point, however, I just wanted to clarify for others that to get 120k miles from stapoints it will cost 65k.

LB every 20k U cash in by SPG = 25k SPG adds on an extra 5k as a bonus so 60k is 20k 3x so its 5k x 3 as well so 60k = 75k then US wil give you 50% of that figure as their bonus as long as U signed up for that Bonus before doing the transfer!

the 20k = 25k is for most Carriers (UA & CO NOT!)

the 50% bonus over that is a US promo Only, since its US that is giving that and not SPG

Before you put tons of miles into US air: I called them to book for myself, and i had flight numbers for Swiss and Lufthansa flights that were showing avail. on ANA, and they claimed those flights were not avail!!!
