Thanks for all the help! I
Its a bit of a toss up now. Either AA, as suggested, or US, being that they are offering 50% bonus on SPG transfers.
AA allows free date/route changes and has lower award fees.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Ok, lets say for arguments sake that both AA and US miles are coming from starpoints.
AA-60k = 50k starpoints@$.02=$1000
US-80k= 44k starpoints@$.02+ US bonus(50%)=$880
Assuming that availability is the the same would you still suggest AA?

Well which alliance has more convenient flights for when you want to travel, OW+El Al or *A?

I was having a look at the AA award chart and it seems that Middle East-South Pacific is only 30k each way. Isn't it weird that its 33% less then from North America-Middle East even though it is a much greater distance?

nay I just booked a NY-SYD tkt for Aug for $836 all in, thats 20,500 miles r/t, for NY-TLV its $1600 and just over 1/2 the miles. will probably upgrade my NY-SFO-NY flights with a Regional Upgrade cert and the flights to/from SYD will be in E+ or maybe I will get lucky like last yr and downgrade to reg Coach ad have a whole row of 4 seats across to myself

as for using miles, with CO it costs more to fly to TLV then where they fly in Asia and Asia is longer
