BMI online isn't listing TLV at all. Can someone confirm that I can call and book any *A flights that are available on ANA/CO? TIA

Nope, not online, only via their farm.

Sounds reasonable, in the meantime the BMI rep insists ET has Y open but J is unavailable while AP clearly shows both. No patience to HUCA yet, just hope its not a mess with ET being a new *A member

For BMI flights yes. For partners, no.

Since this forum is not very active on shabbos, I've been strolling around FT

Found this site that someone built to help search for Star availability (as represented by ANA). FT seems to like it.

Trying to book Israel with USAir miles.  Problem...cannot book for grandkids leaving from 2 different cities to meet us in Phil for the Tel Aviv flight.  USair says they must be 15 to travel unaccompanied on 2 flights (doesn't matter that we r meeting them for the 2nd flight).  Any solutions?  Can I use my miles on another Star Alliance partner? (United?).  Last year solved this problem by flying Delta but have run out of Delta miles.

Thanks...Happy Purim

Even assuming that is an official rule, if you call again and again you'll find a rep who doesnt know that.

Also it really depends on the operating carriers rules - they might theoritically deny you boarding.

AFAIK the airline offer/require a ~$50 service to accompany the minor.

to Platinum Guy--

This is the rule of the operating carrier (USair) and the computer kicks out any reservation for a minor (under 15, trying to fly two segments without an adult) so a rep can't book the ticket nor can I.

DK what AFAIK means?  Can u help me?

So, the question remains...Can these miles (USair) be used on another carrier?

Question-
If I book an award flight on United for a US Airways flight can I change the flight if I need to?
I think I remember reading somewhere something about US airways not allowing flight changes.

Yes, you're subject to the rules of the ticketing carrier, not the operating carrier.

My return flight I am trying to book is a mixed cabin.   I recall there was a way to book a coach ticket while being waitlisted for Business somehow. Is there a way to do that now with a mixed cabin flight thats on US booked from United?

"Plan B" was for CO booked awards on CO metal only.  The real question is if it will work at all anymore.

Got it.  Any other options? If something opens up on the first leg could I call and have them switch it?

I hope the plan B works on United.  Though I never used it yet it seemed like a great option when needed.

About the 15 year old.
Is there a way to check-in online, and never mentioning his/her age?

@ this age the cost is the same as an adult anyway....

Booking a MileagePlus award ticket through United Reservations, regardless of departure date   $25

Is this when booking through phone reservations only? It doesn't seem to be written that way but I just booked an award flight and paid no fee.

And also it says:

Changing the departure to a date/time 21 days away or more   No fee   No fee   No fee   No fee

Changing the cabin, award type, or changing a flight to a different airline, regardless of departure date(3)  $75

Does this mean if I change my booked flight to a better time and it happens to be a different airline I'll get chard $75?

With UA: If I do a US domestic leg in J/F and then a US-EU in Y (multicity), will it price the whole trip as J, or will there be some sort of pshara.

Example. IAH-IAD in J/F <connection> IAD-FRA in Y.
