Star Alliance Award Search Tips

Award flights from Toronto to Orlando are available for the dates i'm looking.
I already looked up on United and it's 12.5k + $47.95.

I don't have any airline status or cards but I have points with Chase (no premium cards) and Amex points (Amex biz plat).

Which star alliance partner would be best/cheapest to transfer and book with? there's also the added tax/fees to consider when departing from Toronto

I have only used points for flights within the US so any advice and what's the best way to use points for an AC flight would be helpful

U can upgrade *A with certain fare class purchases, not sure details with ANA and usually fair class requirements dont make it a viable deal.

You can book UA flights with ANA miles. Call ANA -they are very helpful 800-235-9262

is it worth to fly LOT Ewr/Tlv vs UA in order to save the $1k difference in ticket and try to make it to platinum quicker than using the new UA PQP? or is it only on AC that the PQP beats the system not on any other airline? Economically looking at it using an ABP to pay for it, it would come up to 3,130-35%=2,034.5 vs 4152-35%=2,698.8 PQP on UA would be 4049 but i cant seem to find the way to calculate the PQP earned on LOT or any other partner/carrier for this purpose. Thanks for your help

Dan posted the new United status system that United gives miles as well as status with partner airlines I have a question I hope someone can help me with. A UA rt flight from Toronto to TLV gets me 650 PQP's. However, if I reserve an Air Canada flight on the United website I'd get 1158 PQP's. That's almost double. My question is being that I usually buy my airline tickets with either Amex or Chase points, do you think I can get the Air Canada flight and still get my PQP'S? I'd love to hold on to my 1K status for 2021. Thanks.

Trying to figure out if it pays for me to buy a star alliance award upgrade with a3, can someone tell me what the fees would be on a flight JFK-GVA?
I can't see since I am bit short on points and would need to buy them to get the full picture. TIA

If I have a Star Alliance ticket booked with SQ miles that have already expired and want to change the ticket date (obviously before ticket expiration) and origin/destination, what are my options? (Cannot redeposit b/c the miles already expired).
Getting mixed messages from agents.
