Called CO about changing the return date of a flight (mid June 2011) and they said its a $75 change fee. I told her its only when changing within 21 days of the flight. I was put through to the supervisor and she told me since I haven't taken the outbound and that's within 21 days the fee applies. She suggested that I call back after I have taken the outbound and then the next flight is more then 21 days out.
Anyone ever had this before? S

Sounds like very backwards logic. :o Anyone have this before?

Call back until you find someone who'll do it for free.

Has anyone else realized this as well lately

If I want to book a flight with LH with Partner miles its really hard to get seats in C and F. The same flight with MM miles is no problem. They are blocking more and more seats for their own miles programm

Anyone know any ways to get CO to put a ticket on hold even if you have the points in your account?

I'm not sure, but if the 24 hour grace period to cancel a tix applies also to CO OP, then you just book a random tix, to drop the balance below the required amount for the tix you want to put on hold.
I guess that if you cancel your first (random) booking online, the other one will stay on hold.

Would creating a new account under the same name and putting the ticket on Hold, then merge the accounts 2 days later work?

No need to merge. You can hold a ticket under one account and ticket with miles from another...

Ok so that gives you 3 days. Any way to get a bit more?
Once 3 days is up would they extend it?

If I book a flight to Israel on Continental using ANA points will I get Continental EQMs? Or is it the same as using COntinental points- the one who flies doesn't get new points. Thanks.

If I use my AMEX card to buy amex gift cards can I use these cards to pay off other credit cards that are not AMEX? Will vendors take them? Trying to make $10,000 purchases for the 50,000 + 10,000 points. Thanks.
