Call the airline whose miles you're redeeming

In general,
I have usair miles and ba miles, I know 2 different alliances.
I plan to use each set of miles with their partner airlines, I just do not know how to go about he process.  For example if I want to book a swiss air flight using my usair points or if I want to book a iberia flight  with my british air points.  I will be starting in israel

US, you need to call US to redeem on partners.

BA, you can book most partners online and the rest that don't show up online, you need to call BA.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Does anyone know why every time I try to search for flights on ANA they won't let me search for star alliance only their own flights? the "use star alliance" tab is not clickable?

If there are rev seats for sale it'll open.
I'm waiting on space to open on EWR-TLV in J on UA on today's nonstops. The fare classes show 7 rev seats for sale as well as 7 seats in R. I really hope it opens up, over the last week or so, space hasn't been opening within 24 hrs even though there are rev seats for sale up until takeoff.
Are they selling cheap upgrades or something like that?

I was searching for LH F or J award availability on UA and when I made the destination direct(eg nyc-tlv) there was only economy available but, when I did the same destination via muti-city(eg nyc-lhr-tlv) and adding a destination there was J availability. Is there a way to book the J seats without going muti-city?

I have a biz ticket on UA w/ one leg in economy, and I'm changing it now a week b/f the flight to be in Biz. UA is telling me there is a 75 fee. Seems to be incorrect. Thoughts?
