Negative Scanner
« on: December 10, 2012, 08:05:05 PM »
Anyone have experience with scanning negatives?
I want to scan about 20 years of negatives (over time), so I would like something convenient and quick, built well, but best value.
It would be a plus if its a photo scanner as well, but not a must.

Bumping this thread as I'm looking for a high quality scanner for old negatives. This is a collection of old photographs, so would want something that can get the job done right, with high quality pictures.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Perhaps get it done by a company?

That's not within the budget. It's a very large collection of prints. There is manpower available who can take the time to do it themselves.

Try the one with best reviews on Amazon. If it's not good enough quality, return it and keep looking.

If you have man power there are several apps that work both on windows and android, I have used Kodak's android app and Fotor for windows, in conjunction with a light box, or some flashlights on a table with an inverted glass baking dish. Pick out key negatives, until you can save up for a machine, BH has an auto feeding one for around 300 for rent last I checked.
