People I know have gotten free flights for even shorter delays.

Technically supposed to be cash, but they can offer you different.

For example, United owed my the full cash (around $800 USD), but offered me a choice of that or a $1,000 Airline Voucher.

El-Al flight JFK-TLV was delayed for over 3 hours due to a drunk person that hit someone in the face, they were preparing to take-off but the plane turned back and they had that person removed and arrested. Any chance of compensation?
