Your biased ratings on Ungar's doughnuts are very obvious but for their pricing alone they surly deserve a 10/10!! :)

Not sure if sesame ships to Cleveland, but if you’re in BP i would recommend walking the few blocks to Tam Eden. IMO they beat sesames by far

Taam Eden doughnuts were very good (I takeh got both those and Seasame on the same run) but I really liked Seasame’s dough.

Doughnuts need to be eaten fresh. Can't compare a donut that is fresh or a few long hours old.

@Mimi's donuts:  11/10

Now I know she reads the forums.

So, were these your cheapest or most expensive?

Prices in shekel
Cheapest donuts: Ariel bakery plain with added strawberry flavor somewhere in there. Don't know what it costs, but every Yeshiva orders it by the hundreds so it has to be the cheapest.

Best balance of price and taste: Sova bakery. Strawberry: 3.20  Parave caramel (whatever that is) or vanilla with chocolate cover and sprinkles (very popular by the kids): 5.50. This was also the most expensive donut I actually ate. (Rent is due at the end of this week and I was still short over Chanukah.)

Most expensive donut I saw for sale was New York Bake Shop (by the Mir), 22 shekel. Didn't pay attention to what the flavor was because I had no inclination to buy it.

we also found sova's to be the best cost/taste ratio. Nechama bakery ones are way too expensive  (10 or 12 shekel) even if they are a drop better.

Trivia: Nechama bakery prices and inflation
2020 prices - Strawberry - 6 for 18. Fancy ones - 6 for 30.
2021 prices - Strawberry - 6 for 20. Fancy ones - 6 for 40.
2022 prices - Strawberry - 6 for 20. Fancy ones - 6 for 50.

I can do this for everyone - I'm in gift delivery and I keep records.

Nah, if you haven't had a true lemon curd donut you're missing out. Do any bakeries do this or are they all slinging overpriced pie filling like sesame and breadberry?

The issue with filled donuts is that cutting them often messes up with the filling distribution.

Doughnuts on chanukah is such  a newfangled thing. I grew up with only latkes.

SF's comment is more like a madlib for every food for every Yom Tov

If you didn't get <messy food> in your beard, did you even <Yom Tov>?

If you didn't get <babganoush> in your beard, did you even <Shabbos>?

If you didn't get <Presidor Crumbs> in your beard, did you even <Purim>?

If you didn't get <kasha> in your beard, did you even <Yud Tes Kislev>?

If you didn't get <salsa> in your beard, did you even <Tuesday>?
