The owner at Gombos is friendly,
+1
but the custard donuts he gave me to bring to a party were really stale. The jelly donuts were very fresh though. So its touch and go.
IMHO, all his doughnuts taste terrible, are deceivingly pallatable to the eye, and have so little filling in them -they should be sued ;D

Cutsard IIRC is actually $1.50
Ah but remember the good ol days when they were 65 cents? And the glazed were 35 cents?

IDK about Cleveland, but in Brooklyn 65?? :o
They used to be 3 for a $1, and in the big BP stores 4/$1... Not that long ago, but those were the days..

Nothing worse than a stale donut.  If you're gonna be eating something deep fried it better be fresh!
Can you say "Krispy Kreme"?  :)

Meh. I grew up seeing Subway, McDonald's, and Pizza Hut and wondered what they taste like.
I've tried 'em all (well, the kosher versions at least) and turns out I wasn't missing out on anything.

But next time you're in CLE you'll try an Unger's donut (or next time you're in LA try Elite Cafe) and you can tell me if I'm really missing something with KK.

They call it fast food for a reason. The original glazed KK doughnut is just like Mom use to make.

C'mon, you really think the kosher imitation can be called "trying it"?!

Notice how HM didn't refute what I said?
Because they're crap. Kosher or not.

Sorry for the OT but I have to ask and don't want to start a new thread. Does medicine have to Kosher and is there such a thing?

I won't say crap but your point is valid.

McDonalds use to have the best fries of anyone when they were fresh. I have not seen that in about 10 years.

Probably when they stopped frying them in lard :D

Crap may be exaggerating (I still go to the kosher Subway once in a blue moon) but it's nothing anyone would write home about.

You might be too young to remember but they use to cut the potatoes on site.

It's not that simple, but broadly speaking medicine is fine except if it contains gelatin.
And of course you can eat non-kosher if your life depends on it.

Nothing to do with young, I could be old but I wouldn't know.
