Taam Eden's dairy donuts were excellent, definitely a standout among the ones we tried yesterday.

No, we just tried the cheese. But the dough and filling were top-notch. Very heavy though!
I bought several others to bring home, but into the freezer they went last night. Bottom right was the Taam Eden box.

So Taam Eden was the clear winner.

The Weiss dairy passion fruit filled donut was amazing, but the donut dough itself was quite subpar. That's the box on the bottom left.

Schreiber's only had parve, lemon donut was just lemon pie filling and a meh dough. I wish some place would take the time to make a real lemon curd donut. Until then, there's always Mimi's donuts.

Sesame only had parve donuts, which I did not care for last year, so skipped that. Plus, you really can't beat Ungers parve donut, they're something special. And so much cheaper than these NYC donuts.

Patis Paris Brest dairy donut was delicious. Only found 1 though after going to several stores. Brought home 2 other flavors, but didn't try them.

I did not mean to sound like 'you shouldn't have spent that much!' (if that is how you saw it - maybe I'm reading too much into this).
(I make my own decisions for myself and assume everyone has good reasons for making theirs, at least until proven otherwise.)

I could have known that you would like it, as I totally disliked it when I went the other day with DW for brunch and she got one.

Food choices for me seem to be similar to what Chassidim do when there's no chassidishe rov around.
