Did you watch up in the air?
Yeah. It's pretty nuts. I can't imagine not being connected to anything

I could... for a couple of years. But long term? Nah!

Definitely an intense lifestyle.
For me that would be the line when travel switches from being exhilarating to being a nuisance.

1 year around the world would be the absolute maximum for me.
But that boat has sailed and won't be coming back for a couple decades anyway.

One year isn't THAT long.  You could homeschool for a year. Take the kids with you. Have a REAL adventure. :)
Or a good couple months.

I hope I have enough umph to do something wild like that one day. To at least seriously consider it. :)

I think I could do it if I owned a house/rented an apartment. Just having that knowledge of being grounded and connected somewhere would change my mindset

My uncle took his kids on a four month trip and hired a tutor for his kids. They had a great experience

Far East, Vietnam. I think they also went to Australia. Maybe some Europe also (they are not frum). I'm not entirely sure what their itinerary was

Unless all my kids were at least say, 9 years old, I don't think it would make sense.
So it's a long way out.

I hear that. Not necessarily DECADES away though.

I'm already waiting for the TR.  :)

+100   Every once in a while I'll be booking a ticket and it will occur to me all over again how easy it must be for others booking flights that don't have to factor in Shabbos. Depending on where you are flying to and from it can cancel out 3 days out of the week that you can't fly on.

You're right. I don't.  It was my own assumption that he meant until he's older and all the kids are out of the house.
I guess I just meant that it can happen sooner than that if he takes them along.

Quote from a comment on his blog:
Don’t take this the wrong way, but…any plans to ever settle down? Get a girlfriend? I love traveling alone, but I’ve always find flying in an elite cabin is more fun with a significant other ;) Just wondering what kind of toll this takes on your personal life (mileage runs, nonstop travel, etc).

I guess that's the price of being in the public eye, everyone thinks they know you.
