  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

So he's used to getting thousands of dollars for travel through alternative sources.

This explains a lot. I knew the kickstarter was a scam and stealing money away from babies in Ukraine.

Heh. Never realized he got banned from UA until now.  Guess that explains a lot though.
Realized this along time ago.

You read his TR, he never booked with UA, which made no sense pre-devalue flying on LH F.

Like I said, it all makes sense now. I just never heard the story before.

I'll see how today goes and let you know. After today I'd say people can have a better idea.

I feel like most travel blog folllowers tend to read blogs at least once a day giving and those who will have donated will do so by today and the next few days.   Meanwhile he has tons of friends and when it comes to social media nothing surprises me anymore.

Kinda what I thought would happen...
And I'm guessing if he were going to fund the rest like Dan suggested he would have done it by now, no?

Straw donation?
That's an option but he wouldn't be announcing that publicly.

Of course he can, and he should. All he needs is to have a friend make the donation. I am sure the feds wont come after him like with campaign funds fraud. After all, kickstarted wants the $1250 and the publicity.

If he suddenly gets 10k that would be the smelliest fish evah. If he was gonna self fund it, he would have /should have gave 1/2k to a few friends by now.

One card = one inquiry

As I said above, in the past you’d sometimes get hit with only one inquiry if applying for multiple cards from the same issuer in a day.

There’s no evidence suggesting that’s the case anymore.
Seriously ??? Does he not know better than that?

BA blogs have always been amateur hour for credit card posts.  Anyone who's been to a DD seminar knows more that most of their bloggers about cards.

Apparently. It just beats me how someone playing the game wouldn't have a clue about a fact that's right there on his credit report!

And I guess I've expected more from him in particular over the other guys there.

I've never met Lucky, but I've met most of the other guys and they are more into posting about cards than actually testing things out themselves.  And it shows in most of their posts.

So what are the benefits to spreading out credit card applications?

Spreading out minimum spend requirements

There are some amazing credit card offers out there right now with sizable minimum spend requirements, like the:

Citi Executive AAdvantage World Elite MasterCard – 100,000 AAdvantage miles after spending $10,000 within three months, plus $200 statement credit
Ink Plus® Business Credit Card  – 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 within three months
Ink Bold® Business Charge Card — 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 within three months
And realistically, it’s a lot easier to tackle these cards one at a time in terms of reaching the minimum spend.

Now that IS true for most people.
