Transferring from Virgin Atlantic to Hilton

I don't know if this is the right thread to post this, but I saw this article. On feb 6 virgin will be transferring to hilton in a 2:3 ratio instead of 1:2.

There does seem to be some nice product to fly on.

Again just my opinion, would rather use the miles for a flight, then redeeming for a couple of nights, when i can get hotels other ways. (especially when you have a balance of SPG over six figures )

It's a nice product, no question, but it requires $1000 YQ....

YQ is a lot, though for one who loves to fly and fly the different products, may be worthwhile to keep.

You can also defer YQ with Barclays etc...

Keep 10k for a tlv-lca jaunt and transfer the rest. You'll never use them otherwise

You can book VS RT without YQ via DL.

I would keep them for a OW on VS or TLV-LCA.

That would require finding low on DL... not the easiest task.

I think you misunderstood his post. He was saying to keep for booking a OW on VS. Something I don't think you'd ever do because of the YQ

If you can book VS with VS miles, you can book on DL for low, AFAIK.

But if you happen to need to fly OW JFK-LHR and in need of a haircut it might be worth it.

Yeah, I'm not going to blow $1000 in YQ to fly, what is essentially, a transcon.

But TLV-YCA could theoretically come in handy.
