So a P&C opportunity came up and I snagged it: 15k + $300. Much better than last.

Wow!  The worst experience ever at any Hyatt property.  It seems like everyone was a newbie here at PHNYC.  The only good thing that I could say is that one of the managers gave us a 2 single bed room for $150 as we had arrived at 2:30am yesterday morning for our 5/6-7 stay.  Thank goodness he did that because even if we asked for early check-in for our actual king bed room, we did not get checked in until after 4pm.  After 4pm!!!  I could understand that they were somehow overbooked this week, so I was not expecting early check-in.  But, being checked in way past the standard 3pm check-in time is ridiculous.  That's not all!  When we got our room change, they double booked the room, so someone else was in there when we were being moved.  So, we had to move to another room which was a lower level room.  All they could say was, "I'm so sorry..."  We wasted most of our day waiting for our room yesterday.  Although, they did give us chocolates and a bottle of sparkling wine, and we could leave anytime today, I feel that the whole experience and inconvenience factor deserves more compensation.  I don't understand how this is a 5 star hotel.  I am not impressed especially as it is a new hotel.  The manager has not even reached out to me.  In fact, I had to reach out to them every so often to find out about our room change status.  Even at a P&C rate, I feel like I overspent.  What is a fair compensation to ask for for this experience?  Should I even do so?  I'm Plat, if that makes a difference, and I'm staying at many Hyatts for the next two weeks.

So the "worst experience ever"  boils down to (i) a 4pm check in as opposed to a 3pm check in,  so 60 mins late, and (ii) and you had to move to a lower level because the room they thought was available wasn't?

You forgot to mention that (iii) the manager didn't reach out to him.

Can someone recommend a 5 star hotel check in tonight through Wed. 5/17-5/20 should be in a nice area and near Shul. I would spend in the $400 range or any type of points.

Thanks

For points (as opposed to free nights), the PH is $350 more than Andaz but only 5000 extra points.
Is it the obvious choice?
Any chance Platinum status will get an upgrade at either?
