What's a good option for a Shachris minyan close to the PH NYC (weekday)? Not too early.

My bro is getting married soon and looking for a nice NYC hotel. Doesn't have to be points, but would help if it was SPG or Hyatt where I have some status. Is Andaz the consensus (as opposed to, St. Regis or anything else)?
Anyway for me to book him with diamond to get him upgrade?
Thanks.

Never been to the Andaz but the ph nyc is also a great option. Try sending an email to the assitant guest relations manager (I posted her email upthread) for an upgrade.

Any experiences with easy access hotels on Shabbat? i.e. easy to get low floors, no sensor lights in stairwells, etc.

Can be Hyatt, SPG, Hilton, IHG, or Choice. Preferably IHG or Choice as I'm shooting for a BRG.

Not sure if here is the right place to post, but I figure ppl here need to know about DSUs more than in the NYC hotel master thread. I just got back from a stay in the splash suite at the Andaz 5th Ave. It. Was. Awesome! Staff there is so nice and super accommodating, the amenities are awesome, and couldn't ask for a better location! For all those who like to daven with a minyan, the chabad of midtown is two blocks away, and its close to all major shopping and restaurants. The only thing I would advise ppl about is about the breakfast. Don't get me wrong, it was an unbelievably awesome perk, I am not complaining at all but there were some unexpected outcomes that I feel others would like to know about. We ordered two coffees assuming they were coming from milk and honey along with the rest of the food (as they were listed on the M&H take out menu), but instead they came from the hotel shop. To many people here this may not present an issue, but for someone who keeps cholov yisrael, this was slightly upseting. Additionaly, the bagels on the menu are listed on the menu without any option of adding spreads. I ordered 3 bagels with cream cheese and figured the worst that could happen is they would say that they don't do that. Wrong. The order showed up with 3 (!) Half pint containers of cream cheese. As a result, I was a little nervous that I would be charged extra for this at checkout, but as others have reported, it seems that it is possible to go over the $75 limit and not get charged. Again, not complaining, just trying to give a heads up to anyone who might wanna know.

A big thanks to the ppl in this thread who helped me out (@ CS91 especially), you guys are the best!

*I initially posted the above in the hyatt upgrades section, and apparently it diddnt belong there as the mods seem to have moved it. I can no longer edit it and that is why there is the intro about it belonging on the hyatt upgrade thread.

We need to drop our daughter on Long Island for a simcha (bat mitzvah) in April.  DW and I would normally then spend Shabbos in Manhattan, say midtown or UWS, daven Carlebach, dine Talia's, daven LSS in AM.

Now I see that there are PointsBreaks at Holiday Inn Staten Island and at HIE Roslyn.  Is anyone familiar with the shuls that are walkable to either of these properties?

On Staten Island, it seems Aur Torah (sephardic) and YI SI are both about an hour walk from the HI.

In Roslyn, it seems that the  Roslyn Synagogue is within 2 miles of HIE.

I fully appreciate that Shabbos at either of these locations won't be as luxurious as in UWS but for 5K points /night it could be very economical.  I would appreciate thoughts and suggestions.

Hubs and I were both approved for the Hyatt. We've never been to NY, so we're planning on a road trip. We'll have four nights and it looks like Park Hyatt is the place to stay. I heard the traffic was bad. We thought maybe we could drive there and then use public transport. Is that doable? I hate paying the $25 parking fee but it's still a cheap night although we'll need to rent a car to get there as ours are getting up in age.

Based on what I read it doesn't sound like Hyatt matches status and breakfast isn't included with Plat. I have Hiton Diamond, lounge access with SPG business, gold with CC, and whatever you get with Marriott CC. We can be flexible in our dates. I'm thinking they may be less busy during the week. We're looking at the end of June or after the July 4th.

Just looking for opinions and thoughts.

Shows what I know. Thanks! We'll plan on a Fri-Mon stay, timing arrival and departure to (hopefully) miss rush hour.
