the advantage of  the city is , that if you are out and about late at night it is easier and quicker to get back to a hotel in the city vs. having to go back to Hoboken...(especially if you are using mass trans.)
Not sure about Hoboken but I think the Hyatt in Jersey City is closer to Reserve Cut than Midtown Manhattan

Are you serious? It had its soft opening less than a week ago and still hasn't had a hard opening.
And they have about 2 standard rooms and 2 junior suites to avoid giving away rooms on points.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Didn't realize they just just opened. But I have a night for 30k points but seems a little steep.... Thinking about buying a cc night. You think they provide diamond kosher breakfast?

We now know it's two and two?

Even so, the policy makes zero sense.

Looking for a place near 34th St (pref east side, but even as far NW as Times Sq) that I can book last minute for around $200.

Any ideas?

Update: stayed at Fairfield Inn by Marriott for $169 incl tax booked through hotels.com. They have a deal with the Icon lot around the corner for $30 for the night. Room was small but it definitely did the job and included breakfast was nice. It's nice that breakfast in America has many more Kosher options than the breakfasts we encountered throughout Europe. Hotel was 10 min from the Garment Center Congregation for Shacharis.
Came out perfectly just under the $200 my insurance company allotted me for a hotel for the night.

Comparing cp times square to andaz 5th Ave for one night award stay. Assuming andaz is booked as diamond and cp as platinum. Ft reports show good upgrade chances at cp. Has anyone stayed at both? How is a standard room at the Andaz? How good are they with upgrades for diamonds?

I'm planning a night out for my wife's bday and looking to stay in the city for the night. I've got plenty of chase and ihg points and  Hyatt signup night. Location doesn't really matter as long as it's in the city.
Any recommendations?

you may be able to call and ask for them to open up for you since its your wife's bday. the hotel can choose to do that if they want to.

Not a bad idea, I tried that with the generic Hyatt reservation number but was a no go. Maybe calling the hotel will work better.
