Can make 3 from your account, but you only get 5 nominees, so you'd be using 2 of yours for your folks.

Yes. Only KE has the rule of 1 transfer per day.

so i'm thinking of giving up on my waitlist for November 10th for suites for JFK->FRA. that will mean i have 135K miles with SQ. I still have to get to FRA on November 10. how do i use these miles to book on a partner business or First ? do i first have to search United for availability and call SQ to book ? any surcharges or fees ? any other search engines with better availability ?

You can fly with either UA or LH. With UA there is no YQ, with LH there is.

If you don't have bags it should be doable. I've done around 50 min UA-LH and LY-SQ is basically similar without bags.

55 min is up for debate if it's enough or not, but in the past 10 days SQ25 arrived on time only 1 out of 10, so you decide.

Also to take into consideration that you have to go through ElAl questioning at check in and then ElAl security at boarding which could take a while in FRA.
