Not talking about last minute, close-in seats that they release.  Talking about planning a trip in advance.
Something you should've mentioned....

Dates please.  Not talking about last minute, close-in seats that they release.  Talking about planning a trip in advance. I did not find a single seat in 2016.  Called and asked agent as well.  Could not find a single seat in J or F for JFK-FRA in 2016.
there are usually seats close in, nearly impossible to find in advance. thought there is a method to increase your chances of clearing waitlist  ;)

I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Looking into booking MEL-NYC with SQ F/Suites x2 for August, what are my chances waitlist will be released?
I don't want to transfer 235k to SQ and get nothing
There are at least 4 revenue seats still available

SIN JFK is a tough one to get cleared, although Dan and AJK claim to know a trick to get cleared, I have not figured it out.

Only took 48 hours to confirm.

One of the happiest days of my life.

The private room in SIN was AMAZING but that is only for Departing  passengers, for NRT you'll get the ANA lounge which has good Sushi but nothing special of  a lounge (Depending how many premium F lounges you have experienced before) for book the cook I ordered the Cod which was very good, the breakfast was AMAZING, you will also get 2 X  Givenchy Pajamas  :P I just used 1 pair for both legs and I still have an unopened pair.

Compared to FCT, TG F Lounge, EK A380 Lounge, etc, I found the Private Room woefully underwhelming. (Then again, I observe Kosher, so I didn't partake of the food.)

Isn't that the biggest issue with all the perks of flying F as well as using the F Lounges?

Depends who you ask.

All I'm saying is that on factors aside from food, the Private Room wasn't up to snuff.

Depends who you ask again, if someone who has only been to the Admirals club and walks into the TPR, he will think it is a big deal but someone who flies every other month on various F  products he would not think the TPR is a big deal.

Well I disagree "slightly".

Of course any comparison you make between Y and F is skewed. We are comparing among the comparable which is F to F and within that realm it seems that TPR is not up to speed according to AJK.

Show a traveler that is used to sitting on benches even something like the Airspace lounge and he will think he is in heaven that does not mean the Airspace lounge is good by any means.

That, except I disagree a bit more than slightly :P

Gotta compare apples to apples, not apples to hand grenades.
