Since Vanilla Reloads are no longer able to be purchased with a CC at CVS or any other location, this thread is for historical purposes only.

If I would write where VR is available, by tomorrow it will never be available again. So instead, we will nominate this thread as the place where everyone can complain that there's no VR, and everyone will be happy.

And it was good.


Regarding OneVanilla (OV) and other Vanilla branded GCs:

1. These are not Vanilla Reloads. You are in the wrong thread to learn about them.

2. As long as you are here, they no longer work at WM to load to BB at the cashier or ATM, nor will they work there for MOs. Your best bets are to use Evolve (there is a thread for that), Amazon Payments (there is a thread for that, too), or use them for regular spending in stores or online. At some grocery stores customer service desks, you can use OV to buy a MO.

People are using them to transfer cash overseas without a trail and for online scams.

Things that are irrelevant to the AP/LP Dept in a retail store. From my experience the fact that one store locked them up is not because of money laundering and scams. It is more likely that they were getting tired of OOS when there should have been a large # on hand.

Doesn't make sense, simply because the Walgreens ones are useless - why would someone steal them?

It only takes one or two bad weeks for a store to decide to lock them up. With the amount of people out there doing VRs in NY it would not surprise me that some people have tried picking them up without realizing they won't work in CVS. And when someone is  picking them up to use in CVS they won't just take the 10 they need for that month, rather they will take a whole stack.

You sure? I didn't check myself but remember reading many reports that shortly after BB launched OD pulled all their VRs and limited their GCs to $200.

I saw them couple months ago. Since i found out they were not taking CC, i did not have any reason to go back.

No, I mean to set up as a merchant just like CVS, and be able to activate and load them.
