Topic Wiki

Since Vanilla Reloads are no longer able to be purchased with a CC at CVS or any other location, this thread is for historical purposes only.

If I would write where VR is available, by tomorrow it will never be available again. So instead, we will nominate this thread as the place where everyone can complain that there's no VR, and everyone will be happy.

And it was good.

Regarding OneVanilla (OV) and other Vanilla branded GCs:

1. These are not Vanilla Reloads. You are in the wrong thread to learn about them.

2. As long as you are here, they no longer work at WM to load to BB at the cashier or ATM, nor will they work there for MOs. Your best bets are to use Evolve (there is a thread for that), Amazon Payments (there is a thread for that, too), or use them for regular spending in stores or online. At some grocery stores customer service desks, you can use OV to buy a MO.

So your only losing 2/10 of a percent by using the Vanilla Visa gift cards rather than the reloads.

Many office supply stores have Visa GC that are limited to $200.
There is a $3 -$4 fee.
Therefore the out of pocket costs may be closer to 2 or 3%.

True, but the post I was referring to mentioned OD which most of them (but by no means all) have the $500 variety.
Im not sure were you are getting the $200 ones for $3-$4 because Staples charges 6.95 :(, maybe Office Max?

Nope. Except that there is a ~1% fee.
By purchasing $200 card with a $6.95 fee You are get 1,030 points at a cost of $5.95.  You have to subtract 200  points since you would get those by using you ink card at any old store, so you get 830 points for $6.95 which translates to paying .84 cents per point (.83735 without rounding).
You have to decide if it is worth it to be buying the points at that rate instead of just earning them for free essentially by normal spending.

As long as you value your points at more than 1.4 cents per point then it is worth it.
Your math is off.
Getting 830 points for $5.95 is 0.7 cents per point.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Let me clarify, it's 1/5 of 1 percent more than the Vanilla Reloads.

Ok I've gone on another CVS run and was very successful. You can use the self check out... usually the one looking over that section is a lot easier as they are juggling few customers at once... it's a process more annoying.

CVS on court st, and CVS on Sheepshead Bay Road

What's wrong with buying a PayPal card at riteaid and transferring it to your bank account via PayPal? They have $500.
Is that possible?

CVS on Central Park Avenue in both scasdale and hartsdale have tons - looked to be 30+ in each, both took credt card no issue, and in scarsdale i went up with 4 cards and the lady said i probly cant do them in one transaction so lets just do it in two, and i said no problem i have 2 cards i want to use anyway. So, SPG and BA are 1K closer and MB Platinum hit 1K threshold :-).
