Topic Wiki

Since Vanilla Reloads are no longer able to be purchased with a CC at CVS or any other location, this thread is for historical purposes only.

If I would write where VR is available, by tomorrow it will never be available again. So instead, we will nominate this thread as the place where everyone can complain that there's no VR, and everyone will be happy.

And it was good.

Regarding OneVanilla (OV) and other Vanilla branded GCs:

1. These are not Vanilla Reloads. You are in the wrong thread to learn about them.

2. As long as you are here, they no longer work at WM to load to BB at the cashier or ATM, nor will they work there for MOs. Your best bets are to use Evolve (there is a thread for that), Amazon Payments (there is a thread for that, too), or use them for regular spending in stores or online. At some grocery stores customer service desks, you can use OV to buy a MO.

$500 charge x 2.5% cc fee or even 1.5%   is $12.5 or even as low as $7.50!!

A bit less than the $4 fee the customer is being charged.  I wouldn't want to be the merchant stuck with that kind of deficit.

Good point. So why/how does CVS do it?

Obviously their intentions were that CC should not be used.  Perhaps they see it as a way to get customers in their store.

I thought of a good service.  Someone in yahupetsville where there is an abundance of VRs, should advertise their services azoi:  Sign me up as an AU, send me the card, I'll purchase VRs for you.  $1.00 per card.

Sounds great.  I have a bridge to sell if anyone is interested.

 Hi Guys,
Do you guys agree that for vanilla reloads the best card to use "for me" after SPG is the freedom card?
I have:
SPG
Amex Platinum
Blue Sky
Green Card
Freedom
Sapphire Preferred
Ink Bold
Hyatt Card
AA
US Airways

My thinking is that the freedom gives a 10% bonus in Jan. or Feb. therefore the value per point based on 0.018 is really 0.0198
vs the Sapphire card that gives a 7% bonus which = to 0.0192

Maybe its worth to get the United Club card which would give 0.027 per dollar spent.

What are your guys thoughts?
Thanks

The best card to use would be a new one that needs spending...
