Topic Wiki

Since Vanilla Reloads are no longer able to be purchased with a CC at CVS or any other location, this thread is for historical purposes only.

If I would write where VR is available, by tomorrow it will never be available again. So instead, we will nominate this thread as the place where everyone can complain that there's no VR, and everyone will be happy.

And it was good.

Regarding OneVanilla (OV) and other Vanilla branded GCs:

1. These are not Vanilla Reloads. You are in the wrong thread to learn about them.

2. As long as you are here, they no longer work at WM to load to BB at the cashier or ATM, nor will they work there for MOs. Your best bets are to use Evolve (there is a thread for that), Amazon Payments (there is a thread for that, too), or use them for regular spending in stores or online. At some grocery stores customer service desks, you can use OV to buy a MO.

Has anyone had success buying VRs with a CVS gc or a Visa gc? I know once you're getting 5X at Office Depot for a gc you could just upload it at WM, but uploading VRs online seems so much easier. Also, even if Office Depot doesn't sell CVS gc, you can use this site
(https://www.plasticjungle.com/cvsgiftcard) to swap any gc basically with a CVS gc. Found the link in an old forum post.

Besides the fact that it will cost you another $8 per $1,000 I don't think they will let you for two reasons. 1)It's hard enough to get them to let you use a credit cards now you are asking them to use multiple cards for on that purchase $200 x 5. (What I mean by hard is that, you don't want to bring it to their attention that you are using a credit card to buy gift cards bec then they ask their manager.....) 2) Many times they check ID on large purchases, not sure how that will play out with dumb cashiers and prepaid visa debit cards.

You can buy a store gift card that has no fee and then swap it on the gc swap website, so that would avoid further fees. And in regards to paying for VR with CVS gc and not getting a manager called over... YMMV.

Let's try this again and see if makes sense - Use Ink (to get 5x points) at Office Depot to buy let's say Best Buy gift cards that have NO fee and then go to the CVS swap website and for FREE exchange those gc's for CVS gc's and then buy VR cards with your new CVS gc's. So.... you should only have paid the VR $4 fee and still been able to do the online VR upload which seems MUCH more reliable than the gc-wm option.

There we go! That was my question originally - can you use a CVS gc to buy a VR? Thanks. I'm sure someone will ask - source?

CVS in Manhattan told me last night that there's a new rule that came down from corporate - A person can only buy $500 in gift cards per day. Just sharing the experience, I know ppl have heard otherwise before or have heard it and found other cashiers to do it.

In theory, can a VR taken from one CVS be activated in a different one?
