Since Vanilla Reloads are no longer able to be purchased with a CC at CVS or any other location, this thread is for historical purposes only.

If I would write where VR is available, by tomorrow it will never be available again. So instead, we will nominate this thread as the place where everyone can complain that there's no VR, and everyone will be happy.

And it was good.


Regarding OneVanilla (OV) and other Vanilla branded GCs:

1. These are not Vanilla Reloads. You are in the wrong thread to learn about them.

2. As long as you are here, they no longer work at WM to load to BB at the cashier or ATM, nor will they work there for MOs. Your best bets are to use Evolve (there is a thread for that), Amazon Payments (there is a thread for that, too), or use them for regular spending in stores or online. At some grocery stores customer service desks, you can use OV to buy a MO.

I know of a guy who has collected hundreds of them from stores. He has even given them out to friends for free so they always have when necessary. Those guys are just gna throw them out now.

We all had the opportunity to do that when we came across a CVS that had VR in stock.

I can't answer why others didn't do it (maybe theyre scared that they'll get busted for stealing),  but for me,  it crosses the ethical line.

Agreed. Glad I only know he exists but no idea who he is. Only know people who have gotten VRs from him. (Although I wouldn't agree with that action either.)

Have been in CVS in Manhattan that keeps VR behind the counter. Clerk told me they have to hold onto them because people were taking them and hiding them in the Hallmark cards.

btw went to my cvs tonight to try and do serve load.  It failed (even though there's a pending charge now on my amex, need to follow up with that over the next few days and make sure it falls off)

Just a quick question regarding the new policy change. Is the switch to cash hardcoded against debit cards as well? I'd presume they might be safer bc there is a lesser chance of fraud. However, there are some debit cards they might make sense to use.
