If it's any comfort, they don't match anymore - they give you a challenge. And you don't even get the status temporarily during the challenge, like you do with Hyatt.

Here's the kicker: you don't even need to match an existing status; just call SPG and ask to enroll in the plat challenge...
Can I sm them?  And that's what I say ? Can i have platt status bec i was gold hhonors?!

Sorry. My phones messed up

Much better now. ;)

You simply ask to be enrolled in the Platinum Challenge. The reason why they give it so freely, without requiring a previous status to match from, is because they don't give you anything during the challenge. You get no temporary status, so it doesn't cost them anything to let you enroll.

The challenge is simply a race against the clock: accumulate x amount of paid stays (not points) during y amount of time, and you get SPG Plat. No frills, no thrills.

I still haven't tried matching yet, will wait for the new year. One question though. If I show them a screenshot it will say Platinum but also says 0 points. Does that matter? Also, does this work with car rentals?

So how do you get Hilton Gold and what is Priority Club?

Sorry, that was a mistake, meant to say Priority Club. FTFM :). You can get Hilton through other status matches, was just saying that if you have other hotel elite statuses you can use those to match that to Priority Club (if the CSR does not approve the Accor status match since the statement is blank).

Got the same letter. Just used my Hilton Gold statement to get Priority Club Plat Elite.
I got that letter and sent them my most recent profile and I got matched to pc platinum until the end of 2013. Anybody here got it matched till 2014? Mind you, I requested the match last year but only got matched today...
Regarding HHG they want details of my last stay in pdf...looks like I'm going to have to book something exciting ;D
The next project should be how to get elite status with airlines and match the rest O:-)
