So back to my question...if I requested a match in 2013..would I have had a longer status with whomever I matched to?

Found this in their T&C's...

Priority Club Rewards Platinum membership will be awarded to you if you have a minimum of 50 nights at Qualifying Rates or if you earn at least 60,000 Elite Qualifying points during a calendar year. Once you have earned elite membership status in any calendar year, you will maintain such status through the end of the following calendar year.

Hyatt won't match unless you have actually had a stay at the Hotel to which you are trying to match.

PCP and HHG can be matched to HGPD.

@Dan Can you confirm that you need a stay ta PCP or HHG to be matched to HGPD? Or they match/challenge even without a stay?

We can match Accor's Platinum level to our Gold Elite and their Gold
level to our Silver Elite. We must advise that our newest Concierge
Elite level cannot be matched, it must be earned. In order to match
status, please provide us with proof of current membership, either a
copy of your current loyalty card or current statement showing your
current status.

You can scan this and send this via email or fax this to us at
1-402-501-9166, please include your Club Carlson number with your

Book a couple of (refundable) "upcoming stays", and it'll look a lot more convincing.

Is there anyone out there with some patience that can explain all of this to me? Matching? To what? Does this help only with hotels? What do I get special by being matched? In reading this stuff I see it's something special but have no clue what you folks are talking about. Does it mean anything for SPG hotels? I have Hilton membership but hardly used as well as some others. Anyone, please?

I know I'm a lifetime Gold Advantage member (thanks to Dan!) and it gets me some perks like free bag etc. What can I do with this?

oy mutty. Gold/platinum status at hotels gets you upgrades, extra points, late checkout, free WiFi, the works. So instead of actually staying the necessary nights to get elite status, this is a shortcut
