I personally never sold any precious metals on ebay for a couple of reasons. First I haven't done enough research to see if they charge their regular fees, which is close to 15% usually. Which means even though you might see there a 100 ounce silver brick for lets say $200 over spot price getting sold. & Let's say the amount is $2,500 which mean spot price is $2,300 but then if you subtract the 15% that ebay fees take, it should equal some where around $375. Which leaves you with $2,125. So thats a loss of $175 off spot for 100 ounces. Now just understand that I was doing it all with ruff numbers, but just to give you an idea of what you should look out for & consider if you want to take that route.
My guy usually charges me about $0.75 per ounce when I sell him silver (depending on how much I'm selling him, the more I sell him the lower the fee), which for arguments sake we can use the same price that we used before of $2,300 for 100 ounces ($23/ounce). So my guy would charge me $75. Which means I would get $2,225. In this case if all the math above is correct then I would save $100 for using my guy over ebay, & plus what I look at is the effort to list it, & shipping it. I don't know how it all works. But right that avenue is not worth it for me.
