Ideas for vacation for mid to end of January
« on: December 20, 2012, 01:06:46 PM »
I am planning a vacation for next month for about 7-10 days. I am looking for some nice places preferably in the west coast. California is not really an option was there last year. I was thinking AZ or Vegas but couldn't find much info on what there is to do except for Grand Canyon (AZ) or casinos (Vegas). I would appreciate any help or ideas. If there are indeed any topics on those please post link. (Didn't find much info in their respective master threads)

Warm. Miami is pretty boring from what I hear. Hawaii was my first option but I backed out due to lack of kosher food. No limit on distance but preferably not as fas as Europe (although Hawaii is further ;))

What about Maui? There is more kosher food there.

Go to Manhattan. You'll never run out of things to see/do/kosher food.
Work is what you do between vacations.

Also I prefer  the dry weather of the west over Miami.

What about Maui? There is more kosher food there.
Kosher food as in take out or supermarket canned and frozen.

Central america?
Open to that  too but with kosher food (I dont need a full line of restaurants {althoughthat would be great} just some basic prepared food)

Vegas is not all about the casino's there is so so much to do there, and beautiful scenery too!
Exactly what I was asking where can i get more information on the OTHER things

Also do you like nature or cities? Outdoor sporting or events? Walking, biking or driving? Please clarify
Love nature, beaches, entertainment, sports driving no walking or biking

10 days for Buenos Aires+Rio+Iguazu Falls is a match made in heaven.

Also 2 Hawaiian islands have kosher restaurants.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Exactly what I was asking where can i get more information on the OTHER things

There is lots of kosher restaurants that u can see on the chabad of lv website, all under chabad hashgacha, there is even a kosher restaurant that takes restaurant certs there ;)
Red rock canyon is really really nice, the $7 car entry fee is well worth it, there is this 13 mile trail that u drive in a loop around the reserve, and along each mile there is a stopping point from where you can take some really really nice hikes. Hoover dam at the Nevada-Arizona border is a little overrated imo, but still being that u are just 45 minutes away u just gotta see it.
So many more stuff though, check out the lv thread.

I would recommend Hawaii.  We went to Kauai in November - one of the most beautiful places in the world (and I live in one beautiful place too).

I wouldn't let not having any kosher restaurants stop you - you will miss out on seeing amazing places!  We brought a box of food and pans (and a small George Foreman), stayed in a condo, and ate just fine.  There are not many places I would want to go back to - but Kauai is one of them!

I definitely agree with that. I was in San Diego last year and absolutely loved it
