Author Topic: Chat (Read 3999 times)

What's the deal with this?
Why don't we do something like this?
It would save a lot of wasteless threads (i.e., someone asking where to go for vacation - they can just ask in the chatroom, and be linked to the appropriate thread). Or other very short/small questions that don't require a thread.

The point isn't for it to be a Q/A necessarily, its more for stam chatting. But there are plenty of knowledgeable users which can help to answer those questions as well.

I think this is something that unless I take the initiative, it won't happen. So, which protocol are we using? AIM? IRC? Suggestions?

You would need the option for someone ask a question and everyone be able to see the question. Then from there, one user who knows this stuff should be able to click on it and it would go to that user instead of finding a specific user to ask the question to which might take a few tries asking a few people which would be annoying instead of asking it to everyone at once and one person click "I Accept"

I actually searched the forum for Chat/room because I didn't want to create a new thread - I thought someone for sure made a thread about this. Only a few hours after I posted did I notice that I was the OP!

Again, that's already closer to a forum. I'm talking more about a place where online users can all interact instantly with each other.
