Delta Award With Multi-City

I was searching for an award ticket in biz on delta, and needed jfk-las and then lax-jfk and it was 90,000 miles I then did the same search but added las-lax in the middle and still it was 90,000 miles. Why is that?

I know I tried JFK-DTW-ATL-JFK and it was the same as a regular round trip...
Keep in mind that they have to have availability on each leg; even though they make it go round trip, they charge per each leg's availability.
I'm also not sure if they will route you through the same hub twice...give it a try!
