NO.  I croped on my desktop, but when I resaved the photo it was distorted.

During my iitial try, I used Microsoft Picture Viewer
You probably lost your quality right then.

Theres a weird thing that sometimes happens when cropping with microsoft, sometimes the image gets a little blurry and if you undo it and try again it wont get blurry. I don't know why but I have seen it happen. Either way microsoft is def not the best tool for this,

Agreed, should have used Picassa, at a minimum.  Too late at this point.

Reporting back. Book was nice, but the non digital pictures were obvious, which was OK, given what I had to work with.  Also, the prof'l scanned pixs came out better than what I did on a commercial copier/scanner.

The image said it was pretty high, arounf 2000+ by 3000+, although Im not exactly sure what those high numbers really mean.
