Does anyone know what information I must give the sender to ensure it gets to the right place?

IIRC besides for name, bank name, account number, bank address, there is also a bank number (different from routing number) that they would need.

You would have to call your bank to get that number.

Again IIRC no, the wire will go to the bank where you opened your account. Its been a while since I last sent/received a wire.

I can be way off on that. I seem to remember waiting for a wire and repeatedly calling my bank until they asked me if a supplied the sender with the bank number. Could be my mind generating bogus memories.......

You need your Bank Swift code.

Make sure to call your bank and get the proper routing # for receiving wires, as the routing # on your checkbook isnt necessarily the correct one (for wires)

Correct your address not the Banks.

You need your Bank Swift code.

I knew I wasn't crazy. I've used TD in the past and they require the BANK ADDRESS

Seems to depend on the bank. With BoA I needed the BANK address and don't recall needing a bank number. I guess PUTPAC.

The routing number is originally from WaMu, I didn't use the 021000021 routing number.

I had domestic wires rejected cuz I didnt use routing # 021000021, In my local branch they told me that all wires go thru the mail Chase bank that has routing # 021000021.

The reason why an international wire wont get rejecting when using the wrong routing #, cuz you are using a Swift code - which is basically on international wires, its in place of the ABA

With a bank you should get the bank rate (similar for all banks IME), but pay fees. Compare to rate (no fees) at xetrade.com and hifx.com

Depends if the sending bank does the exchange before sending which I'm pretty sure it almost always does

Well, then I'd pay no additional fee. But that prompts another question:

Do banks normally charge a fair rate in converting, or are they like merchants and gouge?
