did anyone ever spend shabbos there? im not seeing a chabad but a "jewish community in bermuda". obviously no daily minyan to speak of but maybe shabbos minyanim?
looking to go with wife for 3 days on Avios but with these hotel prices im thinking it will cost the same to pay for flights and stay in US. no i dont have any fairmont nights/points (i think, unless they cross honor with other programs)
any insight on either is appreciated.

Thank you. From the looks of the $400+/night hotels, looks like I can do better paying for a flight/hotel package somewhere else.
No minyanim there.

Last minute vacation for two. Doc didn't approve of most of my ideas in the greater US area other than Bermuda (Zika). Looks like they don't have any points hotels (yet). Is that correct? If so, I will probably splurge with CSR points on something nice as we don't go away for more than a night very often. What are some nice hotels ppl have experience with? Any good activities? Anyone have any good/bad experiences with food at a hotel?

Thanks!

fairmont has two beautiful points properties which are basically the most luxurious hotels on the island. vrbo has some great options but those dont offer hotel like amenities nor could you pay with csr. dont miss crystal caves, possible glow worm still in season, cave swimming, south shore beaches...

Thanks so much! I see the Fairmont Southhampton, what's the other? Do they help with Kosher food? Also, once I'm using points, is there another non-brand name hotel worthwhile like The Reefs or Cambridge Beaches that I am seeing as popular?

Thanks again!

FMU, The Reefs is the nicest hotel on the island and only one with direct access to a private beach, and all rooms have ocean views.

could be. the fairmont southhampton has private beach on site but you need quick shuttle to access it. fairmont hamilton has a private beautiful beach club but shuttle takes 20 min to get you there. on other hand their pools are much nicer than the southmapton one and the reefs. really depends what youre looking for

Kind of looking for any/all the above. Quiet pools or beaches are both good; don't need one or the other. Is there a room upgrade I should look for? Are the Fairmonts (or Reefs) good with heating up food?

Ask for extra fridge. I was in a different Fairmont and they didn't even charge for the additional fridge plus the room came with a fridge and was able to fit 7 days of dinners and heat up yourself.

I brought food.

I had dinner from them one night and the chicken came with the seal broken twice.

Thanks all for your help. This is for 10 days from now, and seconds before booking the trip, I was overruled by DW who suggested that if we're just going to chill all day, we may as go somewhere that also has kosher restaurants so we don't have to deal with cooking, reheating, etc. So I thank you all and I will be taking my foruming talents to the South Beach thread.

LOL! There is something special about the beaches there though. Bringing POM meals and a toaster oven worked well for me. But I hear. Miami is also going to be cheaper probably.

Been to Bermuda once before, thinking about going again for a long weekend.  Anybody ever stay by a Fairmont property?  I would love to hear about their experiences.

TIA
