If its a scanned ticket and you were not in the car at the time. 99% guilty unless they messed up on the address
Then you can try to prove that the cop did not give you the required personal service of asking for name and handing it to you directly
How do you prove that?
I got an expired meter ticket in cedarhurst. I want to pay it online, it says to go to here: http://paycourtonline.com/I've been checking daily for 2 weeks and it still says ticket "not found". I know govt moves slow but how long am I supposed to wait?
Appealed a ticket in nyc, they cashed check but never heard back for months..
They are very behind can take 3/4 month. You can look up status online, as that updates before they mail decision
Where can I look up the status if I sent a check together with the appeal?
https://nycserv.nyc.gov/NYCServWeb/NYCSERVMainSelect "Check Parking Ticket Status" and enter the ticket number. If there was a decision on the appeal, it would say Appeal Reversed or Affirmed
It says "violation number xxxx not listed because it has no outstanding debt."Appealed it back in September and sent a check along with the appeal to the address it provided when including a check. It seems to me they just cashed the check but never looked at my appeal..
Did you select "Check Parking Ticket Status" it would show the statys even without any debt. The main page only shows opened tickets.
Ok checked that all it says is "Hearing held: Guilty"Assuming that's not the appeal just the original hearing..
Correct, once the appeal has a decision, it would say Appeal Reversed or Affirmed
So can assume still pending all the way from September? Takes this long- I thought it's 30 days or something..
I have had it take 4/5 months, but from September seems a bit long. The 30 days is how long you have from the decision to appeal, they don't have any 30 day period.
Did you ever win an appeal?
YaI usually only appeal the ones I feel have a good chance as it’s more work and there is a panel of 3 judges. This is my last
