So apparently it's not even possible to plead not guilty, in Nassau there is no option for pleading not guilty. The only option besdies paying is signing an affidavit stating that the plates were stolen or the Operator of vehicle received a ticket for this infraction from a law enforcement officer. Seems there is really no option to request a hearing.
Nassau county red light ticket is $150 .
It does give option for a hearing but it's not convenient...

Just had 2 days on a row 2 speed school zone tickets. $50 each I wonder when in NYC will raise it... definitely not going to stay at $50. Way to profitable

Move to CA and you will realize $150 is low

Anything to do about a double parking ticket on a bus route?
(It was alternate side parking that day so basically the whole block was full of double parkers..,)

Ticket for double parking has wrong address (address listed on the ticket is in different neighborhood) which seems to contradict the precinct listed on the ticket, and probably if matched with tickets issued by same agent before and after, would prove it impossible for agent to have been at said location.

What’s the best way to fight?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I have tried to fight the tickets myself multiple times, never successfully. Instead I use one of these ticket fighters, sure they take half but she's gotten it off every time for me, 3/3 so far.

So she'll charge half of a $115 ticket to fight it?

If I go that route I'd rather give the business to a local yungerman. But my current case the ticket has an obvious defect, my only question is what's the best way to argue (no building with such address, address isn't within stated precinct, agent couldn't have been at that address at alleged time, or just write defective and let them figure out the problem)?

Correct. If she wins, then you already paid her if not she refunds the money or sends it towards the ticket.

Agreed. Tried fighting these by showing up. Was a waste of time. Save yourself the hassle and just pay. I try to fight every ticket and win about half the time but the cameras are tough to beat.

Have you ever beat a camera ticket? I was told by the pros they are virtually impossible to win.

Makes sense. None of the tickets fighters will touch a camera ticket, be it bus lane, speed or red light.

If you can prove (and the burden of proof is on you to demonstrate to the administrative law judge) that the address doesn't exist, that should beat it. (The precinct and other issue you mentioned is irrelevant.)

+1 I've beaten parking tickets, cell phone and moving violations but it's not worth fighting the camera tickets. A friend of mine works in the office that handles them and says he feels bad when people show up to fight because he knows it's a lost cause. Take the time you would have invested in fighting to figure out a way to make $150 :)

How about if I show consecutive pictures from the street (and Google maps) that show that there’s no such address posted (nearby building is wide and has an address a few numbers off).

Was also thinking of showing Google maps timeline showing that I wasn’t at alleged address that day.

Those cameras (and the laws that support them) are the politician’s drugs. They’re revenue generators that require little expenditures and provide a reliable income stream.

If there is no such address then I'm almost sure you don't need any proof, I had something like that year's ago and just wrote " no such address" and won it.

All that should be helpful in fighting the ticket. Google Maps is a great tool for this purpose. As can photographs. There may also be nyc.gov records you can use to demonstrate this.

Here's a Google Maps photo. The ticket I received says 540 Carroll Street.

Property deed:

So technically the address exists, but there's no such address number posted.
