I would guess that bec it's over on the edge of the map and no useful connections that a frum heavy traveler would hit by accident over his commuting... Plus there isn't much to draw tourists there other than some national parks, and not the big major famous ones at that.

That was one of my last ones too, maybe #45 or something. Alabama has a small coast which is probably best part of the state.

I've heard about a week. If you are doing the week of August 10th then just start with the things farther away from Sturgis (like Theodore Roosevelt NP) and do the things closer to Sturgis (like Custer state park) later in the week.
