He can only charge what the CMU meal plan covers, and serving kosher chicken at that price isn't possible.

Right now the food truck is serving Tahini's Israeli menu (falafel/shawarma).

Once the semester starts he plans on having a milchig place indoors.

We just passed through the Pittsburgh area. In Pittsburgh itself, we went to the Duquesne Incline. It was a really fun, quick stop on a cable car up a 30 degree incline. You get great views of the city. You need cash to pay. Parking is across the street and paid.
The trip up takes just a few minutes; the line wasn't long when we got there but by the time we left the line stretched along the bridge. Since this opens really early and closes late, it's a good spot to hit early or late.

We stopped off at the Flight 93 Memorial. It was really well done - the visitors center really puts a human face to the heroic people on Flight 93. You can hear voicemails people left for their family members, see pictures of who they are. The timeline shows how Flight 93 was connected with the other flights.

We also stopped at Ohiopyle. The visitors center has a great view of the falls. Next we stopped at Cucumber Falls, a quick walk from the parking lot. You can climb down to the waterfall and get underneath it, swim below the falls a little (it is mostly shallow, so you can't swim laps). There isn't a straight path down to the falls - each person marked their own trail down. It requires some climbing to get down. We also went to Meadow Run natural water slides. My kids had a blast sliding down them! The parking lot fills up fast so we went later in the day and had no issues parking. My kids only did the first half - my oldest tried the second half and said it was too bumpy and not fun, but they loved the first half.

What nusach and time do you prefer?

Haven't davened Sunday morning at any of the ashkenaz ones though.
Have a preference, big or small shul?
Easiest to find your way in and out is probably young Israel, smaller.

There are plenty of marriots and a couple ihgs in within 10 minute drive.
There aren't hotels in the frum area itself.
Can't vouch for experience, but here are the main areas where they are.
There's in Oakland, near campus and the hospitals, probably closest to the frum area and the direction of the airport and right off the highway.
There is bakery square/east liberty which is gentrifying from a less safe area. Google has an office there type of area. Next closest probably, but opposite direction of the airport and highway.
There is waterfront, where there is tons of shopping. Maybe a drop further, quite close though, and not that far from the highway, further from the airport.
Then there is downtown area. Not much further, if at all, depends on traffic. Closer to the airport and also right off the highway.
