Check AA Saver flights you can book those with USAir miles.

The 3:10 today JFK-CLE has at least 5 seats availability. But with USAir you need to book round trip. Will cost 25k round trip per person.

Or 9000 Avios RT each would be a much better value.

If you have Amex MR points, you can transfer those to Avios right now for a 40% bonus. Also Chase UR points transfer to BA Avios to book AA.

if miles does not work which airline flies is it still frontier

Frontier does not fly CLE-NYC.

If you don't have miles then check Southwest from LGA to Akron, about 40 minutes from the jewish community in CLE.
