So just post about the long holds.Talk about how UA went from month holds to no holds and how it improved inventory. Though I think US' 3 day policy is the sweet spot.
If LY would have 3 day holds, there would certainly decrease the abuse as well. Since TA's will be tired of keeping on holding flights every 3 days. But now there is no reason why they shouldn't do it. It take them 2 minutes to reserve in their system, and then every 4 weeks makes only 5-6 times to refresh until they have someone to book, which they release the seats and they usually pop back instantly.
LY inventory can't get any worse as of yet.It's not their fault IMHO.They need to make 2 important changed to the matmid program, and then suddenly you'll see a bunch of availability:1. not holding flight for more than 2-3 days. (Vs. 4 weeks as of now).2. not letting TA's book matmid awards in their the regular system. I know personally many that keep on blocking all seats around the peak seasons (such as Lag boimar and Pesach), and rebooking them every four weeks, until they have a customer.
So basically the TA is using his own miles? There is no way for a TA to book it with my miles? What do they charge to release a date and let me use my miles?
Here's my experience:1)In general I've found that although EF shows more than 2 seats. AA can only see a max of 2 seats at a time. What you have to do is first book 2 and then usually the rest populate in their system after a few minutes. (by the time they finish the first booking)

its not a sides issue, im glad he was able to book 4 in a shot, was just stating my experiences as well.to give hope to one who might be only be able to book 2 when he sees more available
Now theyre saying that ELAL inventory cannot be checked/booked, call back later.Interestingly, two days ago, booked TLV-HKG Y as part of a larger trip on the first call.

I had luck this week of booking 4 tix of DPS - HKG - TLV in biz class.They need to use the old reservation system which is called Sabre (or s/t like that).Not all agents seem motivated enough to search for it, so PUTPAC if you need to.And the 2 + 2 trick worked for me.
