1. HUCA until the AA agent does not ignore the issue . This might take at least 3 HUCAs.

If not successful,

2. Have the agent checked with the "reference desk". You will remain waiting on hold for at least 10 minutes, but there good chances that the seats can be booked.

If not successful,

3. Suggest the agent to send a request to the "EL AL liaison". They have direct access to LY and do not require the currently broken access link between AA and LY.

If not successful,

Repeat step 2 and 3 until you get your seat.

Liaison worked twice for me so far, but as you say it takes at least 20 phone calls to get to that step, which is extremely frustrating, and is not a solution to the problem.

Most reps claim that it's not available, and they won't budge going to the Liaison because of that.

In fact, I had one ticket that was booked like this, but when it came to ticketing they kicked out that ticket from the queue, saying that it was "not booked with direct access". only after 30 HUCA's I got that one back on queue, and succefully booked.

But I hope you agree that this is absolutely not a solution, and this should get a lot more attention to get that fixed..

Finally on the 16th this issue was officially reported and noted to all reps.

However, still no update.

Hopefully this way it should be solved soon.

Called them last night to look into DPS - TLV

He saw 2 biz, 4 econ from HKG, but when he tried reserving it, the system gave him issues.
He put me on hold for a while and then came back and told me that this has been an on and off glitch for 3 days now. He told me that just a few hrs before that he had booked an LY flight, so I was just unlucky.

He advised calling back in a few hrs.

MEL/SYD/BNE/ADL-HKG/BKK -on CX/QF and BKK/HKG on LY.

That's the most direct routing and besides KE via ICN there is nothing else direct via Asia.

Maybe I'll just stay in the Thailand area, and skip the extra 30 hrs of flying (even though it's tempting once i'm in that part of the world).

Where to where?

TLV-Europe - No problems
TLV-BOM - No Problems
TLV - NYC - I'd say 50% success.
TLV - BKK/HKG/PEK - I'd say 80% not successful.

On the note reporting the issue it says "sporadic issues", which is certainly true...
