I have done a bit of research it really depends on what week she is in. The only travel insurance that i know that specifically includes pregnancy is GEO Blue.
If she is before 5 months than that would technically be considered a medical emergency that *should* be covered but if they want they can make problems since its not an unexpected (no pun indended) emergency.

We are traveling within US but our insurance only covers within state. What options are available for coverage weeks 32-33? Seems many insurers limit to week 28.

You would have to call them.

It cant hurt to take out travel insurance it costs about $30 so you can't really go wrong. If i am not mistaken GEO Blue does until 7 months, but give them a call.

I called GEO Blue and they only do international but they transferred me to their branch (sister company i think) that does within the US but they told me they don't cover travel insurance for pregnant woman. Hoping I can find some company that does

Are you looking for coverage for regular delivery or complications of pregnancy? If the former, I doubt you will find. If the latter, I think travelguard would work for you.

surgical conditions of comparable severity, and shall not
include false labor, occasional spotting, Physician-prescribed
rest during the period of pregnancy, morning sickness,
hyperemesis gravidarum, preeclampsia and similar conditions
associated with the management of a difficult pregnancy not
constituting a nosologically distinct complication of
pregnancy; and
(2) nonelective caesarean section, ectopic pregnancy which is
terminated and spontaneous termination of pregnancy, which
occurs during a period of gestation in which a viable birth is
not possible

question is if it covers a direct complication of the pregnacny. seems not.  Best bet is to call.

While that is out of the UK, they also have insureandgousa.com - not sure if coverage is the same. I have dealt with them in the past for travel insurance (while they would cover for up to 6 months) and I know that the sales office (located in FL) is only open during business hours, and that coverage must be purchased prior to departure.

ETA: just tried checking insureandgousa.com and it seems like they aren't selling policies anymore (can't say I'm surprised, based on my experience with their sales team).

I recently needed to get travel insurance whilst I had already started my travels.
I found a company called World Nomads. They allow you to buy coverage once the trip has started. It will only go into effect 3 days after you buy.
I thought it may help some of you.

AFAIK IMG (imglobal.com) also allows to purchase travel MEDICAL coverage when your travel has already started.

I've recently researched this for someone. Can't talk about each and every carrier, but Allianz definitely say on their website that it isn't covered. iTravelInsured (IMG) also said not covered. Other policies I've looked at specifically exclude anything pregnancy related past week 26.

If the insurance only excludes "normal childbirth," does that include premature (before 37 weeks)? Is there a way to know for sure, or is it a gray area that can be interpreted either way?

I bought a policy with iTravelInsured and it only excludes "normal childbirth"," but it doesn't define that.
