ok, so my 2 cents...

right now there is 34K in there...looking at some large bets that ended, about 53-59% of the people completed them. assuming the bet starts with 700 people, you are splitting the pot of 35K with 413 people which means each person gets $84 with a net gain of $34. Losing 4% body weight in 28 days is not very difficult (for some) but for $34, thats not much of a drive/incentive IMHO.
If there was more money to be won, i would certainly join something like this.
